Last year I broke up with my boyfriend. Every time I wore this top he said, “Babe, I don’t think I like that. It’s too old for you!”

Toward the end of the relationship, he told me if I gained ten pounds he would dump me. He told me my hair was too flat and needed body, my hair should be darker, it’s too long and it makes me look old.

I wore a sundress on holiday and he yelled drunk to the whole restaurant, “I’m dating a little girl.” He also told me, “You have nothing absolutely “nothing” and can not keep up with my lifestyle!”

After we broke up, he told me, “I did a spreadsheet and I spent a fortune on you.” Yes, he ordered me a laptop and put new tires on my mini coupe while I was away somewhere but please note: I never asked for one thing.

Needless to say, when I returned from the vacation I walked and never looked back.

Yesterday I wore this top and sat thinking sometimes we get so wrapped up in a relationship we stop being who we are without realizing it.

I never changed who I was, however, I did become insecure and questioned myself. Reminder.

Be authentically you! Don’t lose who you are!
